Religious Ceremonies

The Auld Keep - a fairytale tower with a winding staircase and magnificent vaulted ceiling is the perfect place for a religious or humanist wedding ceremony.

The Great Hall in the Auld Keep seats up to 90 people for your wedding Ceremony (we can also offer a video link throughout the Keep for a larger number).

Before or after the ceremony you can use our "Chapel of The Smallest Portion" for a quiet prayer together.

Civil Ceremonies

Our Georgian Croquet Room, elegantly created with views across lawns is perfect for a Civil Wedding Ceremony in Scotland for up to 80 guests.

Whilst you are entertaining your guests with a champagne reception in the comfort of the main house, the room may be transformed for your sumptuous wedding breakfast for up to 60 guests.

A Pavilion Wedding

Our permanent chandelier-lit Pavilion Marquee is the perfect blank canvas for you to create the personal wedding ceremony that you always dreamt of for up to 180 guests. The floor to ceiling windows reveal the stunning views of the estate making the perfect backdrop for your exchange of vows.

Once the ceremony has come to an end you and your guests will be invited to the main Castle for a drinks reception. At this time we will change the room into a private and individually styled dining room for your wedding breakfast where the surrounding views now become the flood-lit castle as night falls.

Special Memories

After the ceremony, whether it is in the Auld Keep, Croquet Room, Pavilion or even at your favourite location in the gardens there are many beautiful places to share your first moments of married life.  From the top of the Auld Keep with stunning views over the Firth of Forth, Pentland Hills and surrounding countryside to the unique locations within the Castle we can provide the perfect backdrop for photographs of you and your wedding party.

There are many unique locations within the Castle and estate for you to share your first moments of married life. Whether it is from the top of the Auld Keep providing stunning views of the Firth of Forth, Pentland Hills and surrounding countryside or your favourite location in the gardens, these all provide ideal settings for photographs for you and your wedding party.

Whether you decide to remain within the Castle after the ceremony or make use of the Pavilion we can provide the perfect environment for an evening of dancing and entertainment.  The elegant Hallway within the Castle is ideal for a small band or DJ and the spacious stage and dance floor within the Pavilion Marquee is perfect for accommodating a large band or number of guests.
