Outdoor Wedding Ceremonies in Edinburgh, Scotland
You are able to have either a religious or a humanist ceremony outdoors at Dundas Castle near Edinburgh, Scotland. Both of these ceremonies are legal and do not require a second civil registrar ceremony. Once you have decided which type of ceremony you would like, we invite you to visit us to speak to our wedding coordinators about your location options for an outdoor wedding.
We will encourage you to think about the style of ceremony you would like as you may wish to choose your location accordingly. Should you prefer an informal, intimate wedding, you may choose to have your ceremony by the loch side or at the ‘view point’ on the estate. For a more formal setting you may choose the quaint courtyard or the lawns directly in front of the castle.

Should you choose to have an outdoor ceremony, we will also talk to you about your options for an indoor alternative should it be required. At Dundas Castle we are happy to be able to offer a beautiful and romantic indoor ceremony location which will be ready for you even if you decide to move your ceremony indoors at the last minute. With the unpredictable Scottish weather, our team will be available on the day to provide experienced advice regarding the location for your wedding ceremony.
As with any type of legal ceremony, the appropriate forms are to be completed and along with the fees should to be sent to the registrar in South Queensferry near Edinburgh. Please click here to download the form.
