About Dundas Castle Scotland

Dundas Castle hosts SMB

It was Edinburgh’s turn to host Scotland Means Business (SMB) this spring and Dundas Castle was delighted to have the privilege of hosting the second day of this two day event.
On the 13th and 14th of May buyers and international press were welcomed from Germany, Spain, the UK, the United States, Canada, India and Russia for their chance to participate a familiarisation trip that showcased some of the best that Edinburgh can offer.

On the first day, the group were welcomed at the George Hotel in Edinburgh’s city centre for an intense afternoon of networking with a grand total of 400 face to face appointments taking place.  Dundas Castle’s own Lindsey Mitchell attended the event on behalf of the castle to present to the buyers.  The buyers established important Scottish contacts and were given an exclusive insight into the diverse range of facilities Scotland has to offer for meetings, incentive travel and corporate hospitality.  The first day concluded with a gala dinner in the spectacular Signet Library.

The activity day at Dundas Castle on14th May was described as one of the best yet! Dundas Castle provided a perfect setting and superb hospitality throughout the day.  Highland games were performed on the estate and highland dancing, bagpipe tutorials and drumming lessons took place in the house.  Smooth easy listening songs were performed by the fantastic The Vernon Sisters during the 3 course lunch which took place in the Pavilion.

After the first two courses, to the surprise of the guests, they were invited to the other half of the Pavilion, which had been concealed so far, for dessert.  This section of the Pavilion had been transformed into an elegant ‘evening’ theme with candles, silver stars, high tables adorned with orchids and again The Vernon Sisters singing swing and Motown tunes.

All in all, the event was hailed as a great success, scoring 100% satisfaction in the Visit Scotland survey. For further information about corporate events and to book Dundas Castle, please fill in an Enquiry Form or call us on 0131 319 2039.
