The Boathouse is a self-catering cottage near Edinburgh with a kitchenette that houses all that you would require to cook yourself a lovely dinner in the evening. Should you wish to enjoy your dining experience in South Queensferry or in the surrounding area, there are many options for you.
The restaurant in the Dakota Hotel is the closest place to dine and is only a few minutes in the car from the Boathouse. This contemporary restaurant gives a modern twist to some fantastic Scottish seafood and grill dishes. Alternatively, the quaint village or South Queensferry is 5 minutes away from the Boathouse and has a number of restaurants for you to choose from.
The Boathouse Restaurant is situated on the shore at South Queensferry and has two offerings; the fine dining restaurant and the bistro. It is known for its seafood and its intimate atmosphere. Orocco Pier is also on the shore and the wall length windows offer spectacular views across the Firth of Forth and the rail and road bridges. The Hawes Inn and The Rail Bridge are known for their delicious Scottish dishes and have a more relaxed, informal setting. They offer you the chance to enjoy an after dinner liqueur by the open log fires. Champany Inn is one of Scotland's finest restaurants for beef, lamb and seafood. It offers an award winning wine cellar and is only 15 minutes away.
